Description
The 5081DX is a 1:4 demultiplexer (demux) operating at rates up to 50 Gbps for use in SONET OC-768 and SDH STM-256 applications, broadband test and measurement equipment, and long and ultra-long haul telecom transmission systems. The demux accepts up to a 50 Gbps data stream and converts it into four differential outputs of up to 12.5 Gbps each.
The demux accepts a 6 GHz to 50 GHz clock from an external source and divides it by four to generate the outgoing low-frequency clock. The high-speed data is sampled and output as four separate data streams time-aligned to the output clock.
All data and clock I/O use current mode logic (CML) buffers and are provided with on-chip 50 Ω back-terminations to minimize external component count. The 5081DX operates from a +3.3 V DC power supply and is available in either a metal package with GPPO connectors.
