Description
The 2251TA is a single, differential linear transimpedance/variable-gain amplifier (TIA/VGA).The device is designed for 40 G DQPSK receivers.
The 2251TA offers two gain control modes: manual gain control and automatic gain control. In manual mode, the gain is controlled from 50 Ω to 5000 Ω differential. In automatic mode, the gain is automatically adjusted to deliver a constant output voltage.
The 2251TA provides linear amplification for current levels from 60 μApp to 4 mApp differential.
The 2251TA includes an adjustable bandwidth feature that allows the user to optimize receiver frequency response and output eye quality. Small-signal bandwidth is adjustable from 17 GHz to 24 GHz, typical. Output return loss is better than 10 dB to 11 GHz.
The 2251TA includes a peak detector output for closed loop control of a front-end optical demodulator.
The 2251TA operates from a single +3.3 V power supply, consumes 275 mW typical, and is available in die form.
