Dr. Ford Tamer
President and CEO

Dr. Ford Tamer serves as our President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Tamer brings to Inphi over 20 years of experience building successful technology businesses, with particular expertise in the semiconductor sector. Prior to joining Inphi, Dr. Tamer served as CEO of Telegent Systems, Senior VP and General Manager of Broadcom’s Infrastructure Networking Group, which he grew to $1.2 billion in revenue in five years, CEO of Agere Inc. which was acquired by Lucent Microelectronics, and VP at Agere Systems. Dr. Tamer was also a partner at Khosla Ventures, where he assisted in the growth of cleantech and IT businesses. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Sentons Inc. Dr. Tamer holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in engineering from MIT.

John Edmunds

John Edmunds has served as our Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since January 2008. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Trident Microsystems, a semiconductor company, from June 2004 to January 2008. Mr. Edmunds also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Oak Technology, Inc. from January 2000 until it was acquired by Zoran Corporation in August 2003. He continued to serve as Vice President of Finance for Zoran until June 2004. Mr. Edmunds started his career as a C.P.A. with Coopers & Lybrand in San Francisco and San Jose. He holds a B.S. degree in finance and accounting from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Loi Nguyen
Founder, SVP, Optical Interconnect

As one of Inphi’s founders, Dr. Loi Nguyen has more than 20 years of experience in the development of high-speed devices and integrated circuits based on advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP) technologies. He is well recognized in the high-speed III-V research community worldwide for his work in this field.

From 1984 to 1988, Dr. Nguyen worked at the Honeywell Physical Sciences Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, while writing his graduate thesis on the development of GaAs devices. His thesis contributed to the commercialization of advanced GaAs technology for applications such as direct broadcast satellite (DBS), millimeter wave radios, automotive radar, and defense. In 1992 he established a world-record cutoff frequency for high-speed transistors, for which he received the prestigious IEEE Paul Rappaport Award for Best Paper published in an Electron Devices Society journal.

Dr. Nguyen holds seven U.S. patents and is an author of more than 50 scientific publications. He has served on technical committees of the IEEE International Electron Devices Meetings, the IEEE Device Research Conference and the IEEE International Solid State Devices Meetings.

Dr. Nguyen holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Dr. Oscar Agazzi
VP Engineering, Coherent DSP

Dr. Oscar Agazzi serves as Inphi’s Vice President of Engineering, Coherent DSP. He joined Inphi after the company acquired ClariPhy in December 2016. At ClariPhy, Dr. Agazzi was the company’s Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Architect. Prior to joining ClariPhy, Dr. Agazzi worked at Broadcom Corporation, where he was the chief architect of the BCM5400 family of Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) transceivers. He also played an instrumental role in the development of Broadcom’s 10-Gigabit Ethernet optical and copper transceivers. Previously he served at Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories and was appointed Bell Labs Fellow, the most prestigious distinction awarded by Bell Labs to its research staff.

Dr. Agazzi holds an Electrical and Electronic Engineer degree and a Licentiate in Physics from the University of Cordoba, Argentina and a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He has 150 patents issued or pending, has published more than 60 technical papers in journals and conferences and is a Fellow of the IEEE.

Eric Hayes
SVP, Networking Interconnect

Eric Hayes serves as Inphi’s Senior Vice President, Networking Interconnect. He brings to Inphi 25 years of high tech experience in Networking, within the domains of Ethernet switches, physical layer devices, microprocessors, and mobile infrastructure. Prior to Inphi, he served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Networking at Marvell Technology Group, responsible for Ethernet switches and physical layer devices. He joined Marvell through the acquisition of Cavium. Prior to that, Mr. Hayes held various roles at Broadcom from applications engineering to Vice President of Platform Marketing. Mr. Hayes holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with highest honor.

Sun Kim
CHRO and SVP of Human Resources

Sun Kim joined Inphi as the CHRO and SVP, Human Resources. Ms. Kim is responsible for developing and executing the people strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the global organization.

Prior to Inphi, Ms. Kim was the SVP, Human Resources and led extensive mergers and acquisitions for Microsemi Corporation. Prior to Microsemi, she held various leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies including Lehman Brothers Holdings, Cendant Corp., and Royal and SunAlliance Insurance. Ms. Kim holds a B.A. degree in economics from University of California, Los Angeles and M.A. in organization leadership with emphasis in organizational development from Chapman University.

Dr. Radha Nagarajan
CTO & SVP, Platforms

Dr. Radha Nagarajan joined Inphi in 2013 as Chief Technology Officer, Optical Interconnect. In April 2020 he was promoted to Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Platforms. Dr. Nagarajan brings more than 20 years of experience in the area of high-speed optical interconnects. Prior to joining Inphi, he was with Infinera, as a Fellow, working on the design, development and commercialization of large-scale photonic integrated circuits.

Dr. Nagarajan is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Optical Society (OSA) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET, UK). He has authored five book chapters in the areas of high-speed optical components and photonic integration. In 2006, he shared the IEEE/LEOS Aron Kressel Award for his work on commercializing large-scale photonic integrated circuits. He has been awarded more than 200 US patents and authored/coauthored over 190 papers in technical journals and conferences in the field of optical components and systems. Dr. Nagarajan grew up in Singapore where he received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He obtained his M.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Tokyo, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Richard Ogawa
General Counsel

Richard Ogawa serves as Inphi’s General Counsel, responsible for overseeing legal matters as well as corporate, intellectual property, and government affairs. Mr. Ogawa is a Registered United States Patent Attorney and a Member of the California State Bar with more than 25 years of experience specializing in technology companies. Prior to Inphi, he was a top Partner at Townsend and Townsend, a law firm focused on IP. While at the firm, he was Chair of the Asia Practice Group and served on its Policy Committee. He is the founder and owner of Ogawa, P.C., his own law firm, and serves on the board of Amesite, Inc. He has also held a variety of engineering and management positions at NEC Electronics. Richard is a frequent speaker, instructor, and writer on emerging legal issues and growing companies. He is a Charter Member of the Indus Entrepreneur Group (TIE) and has been a Board Member of the Asian Law Alliance, American Intellectual Property Law Association, and others. Mr. Ogawa also serves as a Partner Member for Technology Group 2800 of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 1984, and a J.D. from Mc. George School of Law, University of Pacific in 1991.

Charlie Roach
SVP, Worldwide Sales

Charlie Roach joined Inphi as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales to lead the company’s sales organization. Mr. Roach brings to Inphi more than 17 years of sales and semiconductor experience. Prior to Inphi, he served as Vice President of Sales for Integrated Device Technologies, where he managed the Americas and South East Asia sales teams along with the worldwide EMS team. Before IDT, Mr. Roach was in charge of Worldwide Strategic Accounts at Applied Micro Circuits, the Central and Southeast U.S. Sales Manager at MMC Networks and Managing Partner and Sales Engineer at Electro Source. Mr. Roach holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University.

Dr. Ron Torten
CIO and SVP of Operations

Dr. Ron Torten joined Inphi in 2007 as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales. In March of 2012, he moved to lead the Operations and Information Technology organizations. Before joining Inphi, Dr. Torten served as Chief Executive Officer of NemeriX, a GPS fabless semiconductor company, and as Vice President at Agilent Technologies, where he was responsible for global operations. Prior to Agilent, Dr. Torten served as Vice President and General Manager at Agere Systems leading the Storage ICs group and Consumer Networking activities. Dr. Torten also held marketing, operations, product development, and strategy roles at Quantum Corporation.

Dr. Torten holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. from the University of California, Davis, a Doctorate in Business Administration with focus on strategy and innovation from Capella University as well as a Doctorate in Information Technology with focus on Information Assurance and Cybersecurity. Dr. Torten is an adjunct professor at Tiffin University’s eMBA program and a member of the advisory board for the school of economics at the University of South Australia.

Lawrence Tse
SVP, Engineering

Lawrence Tse has more than 27 years of integrated circuits electronics design and development, test and product engineering and technical management experience. Prior to joining Inphi, Mr. Tse was the Chief Technology Officer of Intremag Systems. From 2000 to 2008, before Intremag Systems, Mr. Tse was the Vice President of Engineering for the Wireless Products, Communications and Consumer Business Group at Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. Mr. Tse also served as the Vice President of Engineering for Volterra Semiconductor Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of Power Management Products and previously, he held various positions at Chrontel, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of mixed-signal Visual Communication Products, including serving as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to Chrontel, Mr. Tse was with Nortel Networks, developing Optoelectronics products for SONET applications.

Mr. Tse holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Nariman Yousefi
SVP, Coherent DSP

Nariman Yousefi serves as Inphi’s Senior Vice President, Coherent DSP. He joined Inphi after the company acquired ClariPhy in December 2016. At ClariPhy, Mr. Yousefi was the company’s Chief Executive Officer and President. Prior to ClariPhy, he was a founding member and senior executive at Broadcom Corporation Networking group, where he was instrumental in establishing Broadcom as the leading supplier of Ethernet ICs. While at Broadcom, he held multiple executive roles including Senior VP and General Manager of the Enterprise Networking Group and Senior VP of Infrastructure Technologies. Prior to joining Broadcom, Mr. Yousefi held engineering management positions with Standard Microsystems and Western Digital Corporation. Mr. Yousefi studied electrical engineering at the University of California, Davis and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pacific and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
