Another Industry Milestone Will Allow Networking OEMs to Volume Ramp with 1Terabit Ethernet and OTN Line Cards
SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 23, 2013 – a leading provider of high-speed, mixed signal semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced the production availability of its second generation 100G CMOS PHY/SerDes Gearbox (GB) IC for data center, enterprise and service provider line cards. Delivering production ready silicon six months from initial product announcement, the new GB ICs with Inphi’s Tri-Rate™ foundation enables seamless support of 10G, 40G and 100G Ethernet and OTN on a single line card.
This second generation Tri-Rate PHY/SerDes is available in two variants:

Built on top of the foundation of Inphi’s first generation PHY/SerDes GB the IN112510-LC which has been available for more than a year, the second generation Inphi GB ICs offer a risk mitigated solution that has been battle tested for critical performance parameters in the IEEE 802.3ba, SFF-8431, OIF-28G-VSR and ITU specifications. Inphi announced the product launch of its second generation 100G CMOS PHY/SerDes GB with Tri-Rate in March at OFC 2013.
Inphi’s 100G CMOS PHY/SerDes GB is based on the unique and groundbreaking iPHY™ architecture, which is built for client side networking interfaces that push the envelope on power, performance, integration, latency and cost. Consuming as low as 2.3-W, latency < 15-ns and Rj <180fs rms, Inphi’s new IN112510-LD is the lowest power, highest performing CMOS PHY/SerDes GB IC in the industry.
