SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 28, 2010 – Inphi Corporation, a fabless provider of high-speed analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced that Mr. Lawrence Tse has joined as the Vice President of Engineering for New Business Initiatives. Mr. Tse brings more than 25 years of considerable integrated circuits electronics design and development, test and product engineering and technical management experience to this newly created position. Leveraging his experience in wireless, power management and mixed-signal technology expertise, Mr. Tse will lead the Inphi new business initiatives engineering team in executing its roadmap.
Mr. Tse has been credited for building and growing the wireless engineering group at Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., where he focused on accelerating and broadening the adoption of wireless LAN (WiFi) solutions, and unveiled the industry’s first complete two-chip 802.11b wireless LAN solutions, as well as the ultra-low-power WLAN System-on-a-Chip solution that received the 2007 INSIGHT award for the most innovative Radio Frequency (RF) Integrated Circuit (IC) transceiver. His contribution helped make WiFi a standard feature in many consumer electronic devices and in enterprise infrastructures. In addition, Mr. Tse managed the development of Marvell’s Bluetooth, WiMax, Power Management and other Mixed-Signal/RF products.
Most recently, Mr. Tse was the Chief Technology Officer of Intremag Systems. Before Intremag Systems, he was the Vice President of Engineering for the Wireless Products, Communications and Consumer Business Group at Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. from 2000 to 2008. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Tse served as the Vice President of Engineering for Volterra Semiconductor Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of Power Management Products. From 1991 until 1998, he held various positions at Chrontel, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of mixed-signal Visual Communication Products, including serving as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to Chrontel, Mr. Tse was with Nortel Networks, developing Optoelectronics products for SONET applications.
Mr. Tse holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
