Inphi DDR3 Registers pass Intel Validation across multiple DRAM suppliers
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., January 5, 2009 – Inphi® Corporation, a fabless high-speed analog semiconductor company committed to increasing memory capacity and speed while lowering power consumption of computer servers, today announced that its ExacTik® family of DDR3 registers, already approved by a wide range of leading DRAM module vendors, have passed Intel validation. This validation affirms the critical role Inphi’s DDR3 registers play as enablers for the next-generation of server memory technology. Having introduced the first functional DDR3 register silicon, Inphi has consistently been a leader in enabling the infrastructure for the DDR3 server ecosystem.
“This validation underscores a significant step in affirming DDR3 registers within the ecosystem,” said J. H. Lee, Director, DRAM Technical Marketing, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. “As an ally in DDR2 memory solutions, we look forward to working with Inphi as DDR3 moves into the mainstream.”
Inphi’s ExacTik family of precision DDR timing devices for memory clocking and other workstation and server applications are characterized by the highest performance in terms of jitter, timing margin, lock times and skew. Inphi also provides a full complement of DDR2 memory logic and is now sampling DDR3 registers supporting 1.35V to enable lower power memory solutions for future enterprise platforms; further evidence of the company’s commitment to meeting the dynamic challenges faced by data centers, and an indication of the company’s pledge to produce next-generation parts that increase speed and require less power.
Inphi DDR3 Registers Receive Intel Validation
“Micron is pleased to have worked closely with Inphi on their DDR3 registers, aligning them with our suite of Intel-validated DDR3 modules. Inphi’s ability to deliver early fully-functional registers has allowed us to drive industry adoption of next-generation DDR3 memory for server applications,” said Michael Sporer, Director of Marketing for Computing at Micron. “These new products from Inphi also support low voltage which will allow us to build 1.35V DDR3 registered DIMMs for power sensitive and energy conscious applications.”
“We are pleased to announce that Inphi’s DDR3 registers have been validated on Intel® Core i7® processors,” said Paul Fahey, Director of Platform Memory Operations at Intel Corporation. “Inphi has been an early partner in the development of DDR3 memory solutions which provide improved performance and energy efficiency for our future Intel Xeon® Platforms.”
